Preserving The Stories of People and Pets Across Time

A Tapestry of Love Woven in the Fabric of Time

The Beginning of Cherish These Words

The journey of Cherish These Words and the Mall of Hope began in 2019 when my mom was diagnosed with cancer. During her last two years, I devoted myself to her care, reflecting on lost family members and fading memories. My mom, a pillar in my life, always supported me despite our challenges. When we learned of her diagnosis, the reality shifted from hoping she’d always be around to counting down the days.

Knowing I had to honor her memory, I created Cherish These Words to preserve voices and identities. By June 2021, she was too frail for me to capture a video, a regret I carry since we often took each other for granted. I tried to make up for lost moments during her final years.

Before entering end-of-life care, my mom encouraged me to use my abilities to help others. I’ve spent the last few years refining my ideas while coming to terms with my loss. A particular song—“I Just Called to Say I Love You” by Stevie Wonder—still brings me to tears, reminding me of her presence.

Since August 2024, I’ve reached out to learn how to best share this vision. Cherish These Words serves as a family tree, preserving media and stories of loved ones, allowing families to honor their memories. I am proud of what I’ve created and look forward to supporting others on this journey toward a brighter tomorrow.
